Traveller's guide to choosing a vacation destination

One thing I absolutely love about going on a vacation is choosing the destination. Choosing a destination is the most exciting part of a holiday. The world is such a big place and the options are endless. Each part of the world offers its own unique and different experience, making each trip uniquely unforgettable.

I first determine my holiday based on my interests, and these will vary traveler to traveler. Specific countries are known for their distinct cultures. Just to throw around some ideas, when I want a relaxing holiday that lets me escape the stress in my life I tend to look more towards a warmer climate holiday resort location, for example somewhere in Southern Asia such as Bali, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, or Singapore.

Some people find hot sticky weather more stressful and may be suited to a relaxing holiday in a colder destination. Then you could maybe look at locations a little further away from the equator such as Canada, Europe, and Northern China, which would be more suited to you. As most countries have a definite weather system throughout the year, some countries although do experience different seasonal changes annually. You should also be careful to consider the time of year for when you want to visit a particular country, depending the time of year the weather could be completely different.

One last important consideration that I consider is distance. Depending on the duration of your flight and how far you want to travel, you can travel to a nearby state domestically, or you can escape to a completely different content internationally. As always, there are different options for different travelers. Stop-overs and transits are available for travelers who absolutely cannot stand a long flight and need a break inbetween. Stop overs also allow the adventurous travelers to roam a different country before flying out again to their destination. It is also cheaper! (one of the perks).

I personally love the content of Europe and the European culture. Even though the flight is horrible, about 21 hours from Sydney, and I'm not a big fan of the cold weather, I would love to one day visit London. Its beautiful architectural landmarks are definitely a must on my bucket list!
